CRICS8: convergencia de la innovación en información, conocimiento y salud


Con el tema central "Información y conocimiento científico para la innovación en salud", el 8º Congreso Regional de Información en Ciencias de la Salud (CRICS8), se llevará a cabo durante el periodo del 16 al 19 de septiembre de 2008, en la ciudad del Rio de Janeiro. Su programa científico actual abordará los principales temas contemporáneos relacionados con la democratización del acceso a la información y al intercambio de conocimiento científico en salud. El CRICS8 será precedido por la 5ª Reunión de Coordinación Regional de la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS5), que celebrará 10 años de su lanzamiento. Con la perspectiva de contar con 800 participantes y con cerca de 400 trabajos aprobados, el congreso tendrá la participación activa de la comunidad de profesionales de información y comunicación científica de América Latina y el Caribe, consolidándose a cada edición como uno de los más importantes congresos internacionales en información científica y técnica en salud.

Aumentó el número y el impacto de las revistas latinoamericanas en el Web of Science


Thomson Reuters está intentando enriquecer la colección de revistas internacionales más importantes e influyentes en la Web of Science (WoS). De acuerdo con anuncio reciente, la empresa desarrolló un proceso para expandir sus criterios de selección e indización de revistas en la red de fuentes de información e incluyó lo que consideró como las mejores publicaciones regionales. La iniciativa resultó en la inclusión de un número de revistas con contenidos importantes para aumentar la visibilidad y accesibilidad de la producción científica de América Latina y el Caribe, representando un crecimiento de 100% en la colección proveniente de la región. También hubo un notable aumento en el impacto de las revistas medido por el número de citas que reciben. La gran mayoría de las revistas forman parte de la Colección SciELO
